Hello!!!
Ah..the long overdue entry about amsterdam..i JUST uploaded the photos we took (give me a hug mich!haha) and so before i completely forget about everything we did there, i shall attempt to jot down random snippets of our adventure in the land of cheese (yumyumyum)... er okay, i forgot what we did on the first day..the hostel wasn't as pretty as the one in copenhagen..but poor students cannot be fusspots..haha..
We visited anne frank's house! which was super duper fun bcos i think i've read the book more than 10 times..bought postcards for hweetos who i'm sure would have refused to leave the museum given her obsession with sad tragic real-life stories...haha..oh yes, we visited the heinekien museum..which was rather fun..beer tastes yucky though..so our free 3 glasses of beer per person were wasted..haha..
And then there was the half-day trip to see the cheese factory (yumyumyum i say again) and the windmills (which were really quite tiny) and the clog factory..the cheese was YUMMY! and yes, we got to taste it all for free :) muahaha..well, not really for free since we paid 27 euros for the tour.. but sigh, i now feel like eating cheese...
my brain isn't functioning very well today and i really can't remember what else we did in amsterdam..haha..i'd put up pictures if i could figure out how to.but being the computer goon that i am..words will have to suffice..
And then on to the more interesting part of the week!! CHINESE NEW YEAR!! we had steamboat for reunion dinner..YUM i tell you.. although my rice-cooker still smells midly of ikan bilis..haha.. we had fishballs,meatballs,mushrooms,guotie, crabsticks,veg and beehoon..and of course rice!(which i ate quite alot of).. and for dessert we had TANG YUAN IN BLACK SESAME PASTE! william downloaded these strange chinese new year songs which i couldn't resist singing along to..and for my first cny away from home i must say it was quite enjoyable :) i'm still craving pineapple tarts (though thanks to teojia i got to eat them yesterday!!teojia rocks!speedpost rocks!)..let's hope there are still some leftover ones when i go back in 30 days (yes!30days!)
Then on the 1st day of cny..after church..alison, ian and i went for dimsum in chinatown.. YUMMY (i realise this seems to be my favourite word of late) i want char siew bao now!!! Walked to the ucl/hc cny carnival after that...and then went back to chinatown to watch fireworks which were quite pretty... BUT it was so crowded i was convinced i was going to get squashed and die a miserable death of cny away from pineapple tarts. but thankfully i survived the human squashing machine :)
So yes, i had quite a good cny! and for the 1st time in 19 years i didn't get new clothes... i hope this doesn't become a tradition..haha.. and if anyone loves me, they can keep pineapple tarts for me...haha...
time to get back to the books. :(
