We are the CHAMPIONS!!!
Gosh, it's almost surreal to sit here late at night and blog about something that happened just a few days ago - something so magical and indescribable that even now when i think about it, i want to start jumping and cheering for joy :) All the weekends spent practicing, and the intensive practices a few days before the competition have all truly been most worthwhile. That moment of anticipation, that split second where we grip everyone's hands just a little tighter...and then to finally hear victoria chorale being announced as the champions. and for musica sacra. well done i say :)I've never felt prouder of singapore than when we were on stage singing the national anthem.. and it's annoying (to say the least) that we don't get the recognition we deserve (just imagine what spore would do if singapore won the world cup or something) when we're back home...but perhaps in the end it doesn't even matter that much. because we, the important people :), know how wonderfully amazing we are - and we'll always always always know how it feels like to stand on stage and be proclaimed as champions. we did singapore proud, and more importantly, we did ourselves proud and nothing can beat that :) and if the lesser mortals of our country don't see the truth, then it's their loss :P

It was also such a special trip because of the friendships formed along the way - something that made this trip different and infinitely more valuable from the other choir trips i've been on. It's something i've missed (and i think my dear girls know what i mean) having in choir. And it's so sad that people are leaving...but that won't change all the friendships we've formed!i love you guys... and i just can't wait to come back in dec for caroling and to see everyone again :)

Xiamen was surprisingly much much cleaner than shanghai and the hotel was WAY beyond our expectation. Although towards the end of the trip, our room started smelling terrible. tsk. i wonder why. haha...playing games through the night (i'm so proud of myself for staying awake all night!!!) was loads of fun...and i think my diaphragm's way stronger now because of all the laughing we did...haha.. Shopping was disappointing.. but i shan't complain because all the fun we had more than makes up for it. Clothes in spore are way prettier anyway. haha.

So thank you chorale, for giving me the chance to be part of such a special group, for giving me memories that i'll always treasure... and for making me remember just how magical music can be.

No man is an island.
